What a full night puts on the street
18,000 people leave this open air amphitheatre within about twenty minutes of the end. They do not all reach you. A share drive and leave from the car park, a share head straight for transit in the opposite direction, and a share ate inside. What is left is the group walking your way, and how big that group is depends far more on which side of Hollywood Bowl you sit on than on the headline number.
The more useful pattern is that this is two crowds, not one. The pre show wave starts roughly two hours before doors, is unhurried and spends well. The post show wave arrives all at once and is far less patient. Between them sits the quietest stretch of the evening, which is the part worth planning for rather than enduring.
